Kwintner meteorite pieces are mined from Argentina’s Campo Del Cielo meteorite fall. An iron based alloy that fell to Earth approximately four thousand years ago. No two patterns are identical, making every piece a true one-of-a-kind artifact.
Meteorite is primarily composed of iron and will naturally develop a surface patina when exposed to moisture and salt. This is not a defect. It is the material's living character. A light, even patina can be beautiful and is embraced by many collectors.
Wipe your meteorite piece with a dry, soft cloth to remove moisture and oils. For deeper cleaning, use a cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Never soak meteorite in water or any liquid. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners.
Remove meteorite jewelry before washing hands, swimming, bathing, or any water-related activity. After exposure to rain or perspiration, dry the piece immediately and thoroughly. Store with a silica gel packet to absorb ambient humidity.
